WIAW #5: Mother’s Day Is Everyday!

Hello everyone! I am writing to you on Saturday. I am just so happy because my Anatomy final is over. Finished with A&P I and now I will be taking part II in July.

Any who, today’s What I Ate Wednesday is from this Saturday because we took my mother out to a dinner and Broadway show! If you don’t know what WIAW is, head over to Peas and Crayons to learn more! Before my exam, I had yummy brain fuel of Van’s gluten and wheat free blueberry waffles with blueberries and cashew butter.Snack? 1/2 of a Clif bar, light string cheese, a few cashews and a small sliced orange. I absolutely love this combo.I kept lunch on the lighter side because of I knew tonight might get crazy food wise. I had a small turkey burger with string beans and red roasted potatoes. I still had some orange slices left, so I added that as dessert.Early Mother’s Day dinner was spent at the Westchester Broadway Theater. Here they show broadway performances and serve you dinner before the show. Saturday’s show was Hairspray! The ticket price includes bread rolls and cornbread, mini salad, main course and the Chef’s dessert choice. Along with coffee and tea, if desired. They also offer appetizers, drinks and specialty desserts at an extra cost. Great for the extra hungry! For my main course I chose pork with red and sweet roasted potatoes, cinnamon baked apples and veggies. The Chef’s dessert was vanilla ice cream with a raspberry puree on a peach topped with a skinny crunchy cookie and whip cream. I ate everything, minus the cookie. And maybe at my mom’s dessert too. And 1/2 my brother’s. And a 1/4 of my dad’s. Oh, it was heavenly. Hello,  my name is Sabrina and I’m addicted to sweets! It was okay to eat my mom’s dessert because she had a specialty dessert; apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and caramel drizzle. Mmmm, I had to have a few spoons.I tried to sip on a “French Kiss” but it was too sour for me. It had vanilla vodka with pineapple and peach juice and a non-existing champagne float.”All in all, the place was pretty awesome but we were there for five hours because we didn’t know dinner was before the show. I thought it was during like Medieval Times. At least my mom enjoyed it. That’s all that truly matters!

Question: Have you ever been to a dinner/ show combo?

I did once back when I was younger at Disney. I remember it being super fun and lots of yummy food; ribs, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, fries. Okay, now it doesn’t sound so yummy when you write it all out!
