Baby Samantha {4M Recap}

Happy five months to my beautiful baby girl! I remember this time last year being pregnant and hating the nausea.

I was living off of Starbucks Cool Lime tea and bagels. I find myself still in Starbucks and craving bagels. Samantha started eating some solids at the end of 4 months.

We are sticking with some rice cereal and a teaspoon of baby banana food for breakfast or lunch of organic brown rice cereal and baby sweet potato. We have been loving the Happy Bellies rice cereal. Plus it has probiotics for the belly! Since my work schedule varies, we try to give her one or the other, never both. Once she hits 6 months (and we both settle with work), we will get more consistent with a small breakfast/ lunch and dinner.

We have been using these spoons to feed her. We have others but I think because it’s thinner then the other ones, she eats better from these. The others are too wide for her tiny mouth. Sometimes just having these in her diaper bag make this mommy on the go’s life easy.

I do have a baby bullet which I am going to start experimenting with once she is eating more.

A couple of her favorite toys for the last couple of months have been: The VTech’s Busy Learners Activity Cube. The VTech Click & Count (sensing a pattern here?).Can’t forget My Pal Scout, especially for bedtime music! The Rainforest Jumperoo is a new favorite of hers.Other things she’s been using has been plenty of teethers, bibs, fun bath toys and random toys that shake. 😀

She is such a joy and happy baby, we got so lucky with this little love bug. That’s it for now! Until the next update and remember to see more posts HERE about all things baby!

Thinking Out LOUD #23: “Good Morning Smoothie”

Good [THINKING OUT LOUD] morning friends!

I’m sharing with you that “Good Morning Smoothie” I shared on Instagram. The recipe goes:

1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder (of choice)
4 oz. of light orange juice or 1/2 cup of orange sections (peeled duh)
1/2 Cup of frozen Peaches
1/2 of a Banana (slice some up and freeze before hand)
8 oz. of Ice Cold Water
1 tsp of Chia OR Flax Seeds
(Add a handful of spinach or greens for a nutrition boost!)
Handful of Ice

Through everything into a blender, mix and enjoy!I tried this other day and it was pretty delicious! Thinking there will be more of these in my future for sure. Oh and it was a whole EIGHT degrees the other day, then it was up to 45 the next. What’s up weather?Of course I’d bundle up with some iced coffee. #Starbucksloves. However, this here Starbucks swag from the hubs is for those days that I DO enjoy me some hot coffee. Samantha had her first day of “school” this week. It’s a one hour development class for babies.  She has a blast!Mama is trying to get her Yoga smarts on too with a side of chocolate. Noms! That’s a wrap for this edition of Thinking Out LOUD.Thanks Amanda for hosting!

Question: What DO YOU bundle up with when it’s cold outside? Book, Blanket, Coffee… all three?

MIMM #44: Starbucks Lover.

Breakfast… with the cold weather upon us, a marvelous cup of coffee is just the thing in the morning. Plus a delicious bowl of oats and some nuts and thangs on top has been a-mazing.And we’ve been wearing marvelous polka-dotty warm and cozy Carter’s wear.Starbucks has been my go to as of late to get work done. She tends to be very calm (sometimes even sleeps) in the Starbucks environment. Definitely my child. 😀I redeemed a free reward this week and tried this chicken flatbread post-pregnancy. It was not so marvelous! I remembered loving it before. Guess my taste buds have changed back to [mostly] norm.I’ve also been feeling pretty marvelous about how my post-baby body progress is going. After all, I do workout for a living! My tummy is tightening back up and I am seeing the quad definition come back in my legs. This is 15 weeks versus 3 weeks post-partum, not to shabby. I have a 4-week bootcamp program beginning in January. Program is designed for woman who are trying to get back to pre-baby body, lose weight or just get back on track from the holidays.

You can EVEN purchase a program for you and/ or a friend! The more the merrier.Email me at NutritiouslySweet@gmail.com.I’m linking up with Katie for Marvelous In My Monday. Hope everyone enjoys their week and happy early Thanksgiving. 🙂

Question: Any Thanksgiving plans?

Traveling this week?

Where to!?

Work In Progress.

Life.

My life.

It’s a work in progress. As I think many of our lives are.

Things can change any day, any minute, and second! My life changed when I met Patrick almost three years ago. It also changed when Samantha was born on August 6th, 2015. Life will never be the same, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My body is a work in progress. Here is 6 weeks of progress; I am now 3 months postpartum on the left and 3 weeks postpartum on the right. I lost about four inches off my belly and five pounds. May not seem like a lot but baby steps are key to long term success.

Maybe a little coffee played a role. I use to get lattes all the time but now I down graded to iced coffee with soy milk. I still get my fix and my body [and wallet] thank me.I also don’t deprive myself. When I first began on my weight loss journey, I thought certain foods were off limits, but I soon realized, life is about an 80/20 balance; 80% on plan, 20% wiggle room. I like cookies in that room. 😀I fuel my body. Whether it’s through good food, extra vitamin/ iron supplements or Shakeology, my body is always getting the nutrition I need. After all I have a family that needs me to be healthy.I’ve slowed down. Not only because, hey being a parent and working is tiring but I am learning to enjoy every moment.

That means slowing down and spending time where it matters. And capturing those precious “first time” moments. I am linking up with Amanda this week for Thinking out LOUD Thursdays. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Question: What is YOUR current “work in progress?”

Friday Favorites #7: All Things Fall.

Can you believe it’s October already?#ApplePickinginEffect.#PumpkinEverywhere. #PumpkinSpiceandEverythingNice. 😀 I got my second Citrus Lane box this month. Samantha is loving the rattles, especially the egg shape; it’s her favorite! My current favorite pants to workout in are these bad boys from Walmart. Only six bucks, can’t go wrong! And post-work, my favorite is vegan chocolate Shakeology with a side of baby.If I’m feelin’ it, I’ll go a little tropical and do Strawberry.I’m linking up with Friday Favorites over at Life in Leggings. Have a great weekend everyone. 😀

Question: What are some of your favorite post-workout snacks/ meals?

Think Out Loud #17: Hello September!

Where has summer gone? Oh yes, I was pregnant most of it. Can you believe I was 40 weeks pregnant almost a month ago? Can’t believe Baby girl is soon to be a month old this week. And can’t believe Dunkin has pumpkin out. #PumpkinEverything 😉 My doctor told me that I could start testing working out at the two week mark. But when it hit, I knew I wouldn’t be ready for another week.

I took my first spin class this week since May 20th.

It felt good to be back on the saddle, but I did take it easy. I went to Oxygen, Mind & Body and class was great! You should check them out if you are in the area.Great thing about that studio is that there is Whole Foods near by. I get to stock up on trail mix and oatmeal cookies. The vegan ones from Whole Foods are delicious. #CookieMonster 😀I’ve also become obsessed with these Good Health veggie straws. And these. This week was my first week back instructing and I feel pretty good. Love seeing this face when I come back home.I’m linking up with Thinking Out Loud for today, thanks Amanda!Hope everyone is having an awesome first week of September. 🙂
