Friday Favorites #1: Pregnancy Edition

Happy Friday my friends! (have you seen the new header?) 🙂

Or for me, it really isn’t “Friday” persay but, I do have a fun Friday Favorites post for y’all today – “the pregnancy edition.”

I decided to update y’all on EIGHT of my current favorite workouts, snacks, etc. during the Third Trimester.

Up until 27/28 weeks, I was doing spin 1-2x’s a week, yoga (1-2x’s) and strength training (1-2x’s).Now I do a lot more walking (3x’s a week), yoga (1-2x’s) and maybe one strength training routine or Barre class.

Favorite YouTube Yoga Quickie: Tone It Up’s Bikini Yoga.

Favorite YouTube Workout: During the second trimester, I was loving the Kettletoning from TIU. I still love it! I modify and skip most of the abs (and just repeat some of the arms/ lower body exercises in the video). I use a 10lbs Kettlebell and sometimes 5lb weights, if needed.Favorite Workout Quickie: My Kettlebell Torch routine!

Favorite Protein Bar: Luna Bars. I just love them and the extra bit of iron.Favorite Protein’d Snack: Greek yogurt. WIAW #125: Day Off Eats!

Morning there! It’s been almost a month since my last What I Ate Wednesday post.

Why not bring one to you this week on eats on one of my days off? Let’s Go!

Breakfast: Literally 6 out of 7 days a week, I have cereal for breakfast; mix of Fiber One Honey Clusters, Kellogg’s Smart Start, chia seeds and blueberries.. Today I clearly has two breakfasts; this one is Special K Chocolate Almond, Fiber One Honey Clusters and seeds. #NoShame.Mid-Morning Snack: I tried this limited Chobani plum Greek Yogurt. It honestly tasted more like light cherry, but was still delicious.I had a real plum after to compensate for taste 😉Lunch: I really didn’t have lunch, but rather munched on a Quest bar and banana. Dinner: A simple, yet yummy Lean Cuisine Four Cheese pizza with grape tomatoes on the side. I topped with a sprinkle of pepper and reduced-fat Parmesan. Dessert: The fiancé went to get me some pistachio soft served. Couldn’t say no to that one!There you have it, some eats on my day off. WIAW #124: Long Day!

Good morning y’all!

I am stopping by for a What I Ate Wednesday post today. I have a full day today (10am-9pm) with a couple of hours in between time. All meals were pre-prepped and packed!

I started my day off with some protein pancakes before heading to my doctor’s appointment. It’s been a while since I had em’ and they did not disappoint.  Of course coffee too.I had a thinkThin lean protein and fiber bar as a snack, just before the doctor’s. For lunch, I made a whole wheat wrap with turkey, Swiss, tomatoes and garlic infused olive oil. Mmmm 🙂 Afternoon pick-me-up!For a second snack (at work), I packed a fruit salad, Greek yogurt and string cheese. To satisfy my sweet tooth (had two) ❤ Dinner (at work) was some homemade Vermont pasta with homemade pasta sauce from this weekend.Thanks Jenn for hosting this food party!Question: Ever had one of those crazy long days where you’re home to just wake up, go and come back to sleep?

MIMM#16: Busy Bee

Happy Monday y’all!

Even though I just traveled to New York earlier this week, it seems that I have been busier than usual.

What’s a pregnant lady to do? Snack, snack, snack of course!I tried the pear flavor of the Stonfield Greek and Chia. It was marvelous and much better then the other flavor I tried which I cannot remember for the life of me which it was.

How about these NuGo Fiber D’lish bars? I won a giveaway from Linz for a box of these marvelous bars and opted for the coconut macaroon. Taste likes summer!

This weekend though, was pretty chill and I was off Saturday and Sunday with the exception of class.

This means I had ample time to make dessert.Make a marvelous breakfast for the fiancé.And… one for myself (I’ve been feeling oaty). Play with bunny. And even sneaked in a bump selfie {17Wks4Days}.Oh and happy March! 🙂

This month is going to be nuts: Between covering more spin classes (and working more in general), bump growing, our last month in this apartment, doctor’s appointments galore… it’s going to be a busy one!

Fun Finds Friday #28

The last time I did a “Fun Finds Friday” was in 2013!

I decided to resurrect FFF and bring to you a few things I found in the past week or two. Not only that, it’s a three day in a row post spree. Wow, what has gotten into me?

For one, I haven’t been much in the blogging community in a while, so I really want to get back to it. Let’s get onto the finds.

If you watch television or hear about the Superbowl, chances are you seen the commercial for the triple zero yogurt from Dannon Oikos. The “triple zero” refers to zero added sugar, far or artificial sweeteners. It has 15g of protein and to my surprise, it was really good! I definitely will get it again. I can stomach it as opposed to other Greek yogurts like Chobani and Fage, since they are thicker. This Greek yogurt has more of a “regular” yogurt consistency. If you see it, try it out!

Next is this chocolate organic soy protein shake by Svelte. I tried their cappuccino one in the past and liked it, but this one was just too thick and had a strange taste. I will stick to the coffee one.You know I use to love my Vitatops “pre-allergy” diagnosing. Each week I am trying foods from my past that I haven’t eaten to see how my stomach is handling it.

I must say since not having chicken, green beans/peas and almonds, my stomach has been super happy. I know still red sauce gives me some heart burn and too much dairy makes me bloated and gasy. Listen to your body.

Back to the Vitatops, I decided to pick some up, since they were on sale for $2.99! I got the blueberry ones and man, still good as I remembered.This isn’t really a “find” but rather a re-find. I use to buy these a lot a few summers ago (I get enough fiber) and they taste good with granola and milk! So yeah, I am going to be doing that again. Speaking of granola, I got this wonderful box in the mail from Van’s Foods! It was filled with their new gluten-free granolas and pastas and some snazzy kitchen gear. I love the wooden spoon!

I dug into the Rotini and Red Sauce right away. The gluten-free rotini is made from brown rice, red lentil flour, beet powder and tomato owder. Each serving has 12g of protein and is quite low in sodium for a prepackaged item at only 160mg. It comes with marinara sauce to mix in once the pasta is done. You can add in chicken, ground beef or eat as is. I at it with some Parmesan cheese mixed in and let me tell you, it was so darn delicious! The texture of the pasta was perfect for a gluten-free pasta (which I have found to be an issue in the past). I am not a pasta person, but this makes me want to be. The only con is there wasn’t enough sauce for my taste, so I added some tomato basil pasta sauce. If you see Van’s Rotini and Red Sauce pasta, definitely give it a try.
