WIAW #125: Day Off Eats!

Morning there! It’s been almost a month since my last What I Ate Wednesday post.

Why not bring one to you this week on eats on one of my days off? Let’s Go!

Breakfast: Literally 6 out of 7 days a week, I have cereal for breakfast; mix of Fiber One Honey Clusters, Kellogg’s Smart Start, chia seeds and blueberries.. Today I clearly has two breakfasts; this one is Special K Chocolate Almond, Fiber One Honey Clusters and seeds. #NoShame.Mid-Morning Snack: I tried this limited Chobani plum Greek Yogurt. It honestly tasted more like light cherry, but was still delicious.I had a real plum after to compensate for taste 😉Lunch: I really didn’t have lunch, but rather munched on a Quest bar and banana. Dinner: A simple, yet yummy Lean Cuisine Four Cheese pizza with grape tomatoes on the side. I topped with a sprinkle of pepper and reduced-fat Parmesan. Dessert: The fiancé went to get me some pistachio soft served. Couldn’t say no to that one!There you have it, some eats on my day off. “Day in The Life Of” a Day Off!

I finally had a full day off!

Just as I mentioned in this past WIAW post. It was seriously nice to just do what I wanted on my own time. No obligations! Most “full” day offs are fairly the same, between cleaning, laundry and blogging. This one, however, has a fun stop to Ben & Jerry’s.

So what did I do on my day off? 

7:10am: Pat woke me up to say goodbye, since he had to go to work early, but I fall back asleep.

7:50am: “Officially” wake up, brush my teeth and get ready to begin the day!

8:15am: I woke up starving, so I went to heat up my oats and pour some iced coffee (both prepped the day before).8:30-11:00: Work on the blog and watch hang with kitty. Now that I finally got settled at the in-laws, I can get back to more blogging and pre-writing posts.

11:30am: Grab a snack.12:30pm: Had another snack and then I headed out to activate a free 30 Day trial I found online to Gold’s Gym. I ended up doing a light cardio session with some back, bi’s and tri’s exercises.

2:00pm: #FreeConeDay! I finally got to try Spectacular Speculoos ice cream and I also got some mango sorbet. It was $1 for an extra scoop, why not?!3:00pm: Get home, finish up laundry and clean up.

4:00pm: Relax, read some blog posts and eat!My BodyBuilding.com package came in and with some free goodies! They were have a sale plus 16% off for their “Sweet 16” anniversay.6:15pm: I ended up making a smoothie using the vanilla protein plus some strawberry, banana and flax6:30pm: Head out for prenatal yoga at Banyan Tree.8:45pm: Came back home and relax with Pat for the rest of the evening.

And there you have it, my day off. Pretty productive but it was nice to be on my time. Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

Thinking Out Loud #5: A Few Of My Favorite Things

I’ve had a couple of early shifts this week. By early I mean before dawn or crazy 5:00am workout people. I had to wake up at 3:35am. Coffee was in order (twice). The drive to work from New Hampshire is about an hour. It’s not bad since I am only doing it a 2-3 times a week. Everyone else gets to sleep while I get ready. 😦At least, I “pack” my days with double work, errands or doctor appointments.

Speaking of appointments, Baby Samantha is currently 23Weeks2days! I feel so big. Literally the green shirt was “fine” when I wore it Friday.

Then after wearing it Tuesday, I felt like I had gained 10lbs. In total I have gained 12lbs, but wearing large shirts from smalls/mediums and M-L leggings from XS.I’m thinking, it must be all the ice cream 😉(Oh and did you see the owl bracelet? Cute right?)Fear not! I am eating other things besides ice cream, like these gluten-free Luna bars.…And those are a few of my favorite things; coffee, breakfast, raspberries, funky jewelry, etc. 🙂 I am linking up with Amanda today for “Thinking out Loud.”

MIMM #21: Easter Weekend Goodies!

Happy Monday my friends!

This weekend was a busy one. I seem to always say this week or weekend was busy. Friday, I moved out of my Northshore apartment and headed up to New Hampshire for Easter weekend. Before leaving, I had a coffee date with my friend.

Mmmm to a hot toasted almond mocha latte.I also had my last official day at one of my spin locations. I will still remain a sub until May. Marvelous is cookies. Spring/ Easter cookies to be more specific. My mom came up Saturday afternoon for Easter weekend to visit. Ice cream is always in order 😉 Latley, I’ve been doing more at home workouts to stay active since I don’t have a “gym” membership. Check out these two yoga toning workouts here and here! For Easter Sunday, the in-laws had a nice dinner.And Pat bought me some chocolates. NomsThings should start to slow down this week after work tomorrow. I am excited for an off day on Wednesday. Nature Bliss

There’s nothing like being one with nature.This past week my mom and I paid a visit to the Kensico Dam in Valhalla, NY. It was beautiful.Today I have my post surgery appointment in MA. My mom decided to come up and enjoy a bit of New England bliss. Like the Merrimack River in Manchester. We went to visit my manfriend in New Hampshire and enjoyed a lovely evening. I even completed her tour with a little Ben & Jerry’s.Life’s good.The giveaway is now CLOSED and I will be announcing the winner tomorrow!

Fun At The Garden & Trolley

My mom and I had a “mother and daughter” day at the New York Botanical Garden the other day.Took a little nature walk under the bridge.Enjoyed the view too.Stopped at the Greenmarket (every Wednesday) for some sugar plums, golden delicious apple and pumpkin scone. So delicious!Also stopped at the Whole Foods table for a sampling.Today we went on the Bronx trolley, which is on the first Friday of every month. Got some delicious cookie dough and salted caramel ice cream from Lickety Split in City Island (which is one of their stops). Clearly I was excited from the blurry picture.This week, I made some vegan versions of my truffles and protein donuts (just sub the egg for a flax egg). They came out delicious! #TravelingGnome: Part II

Good Afternoon!

Guess who was back this week? The #travelinggnome of course! I went to New York this week to take care of something at the doc’s and it was nice to be back in New York. I hadn’t been since my day trip in February. Though I only spent a day and a half, it was nice to get away from Massachusetts. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Northshore, but we all need a break sometimes right? Before I left on my adventure, I did spin at 5 in the morning and got my sweat on and had this Genesis energy (which was amazing). It was such a great class and it powered me for the 4 hour drive to NY. And while we are here, check out some vein popping. I must say I like when it happens; I feel hulk like. My mom even let me try some dark chocolate coconut “gelato” she me with a little honey, extra coconut and chocolate chips. It was delicious and who can say no to lots o’ chocolate chips?Speaking of coconut, I tried this Steaz with green tea and coconut and my oh my was it amazing. I am huge fan of iced green tea and mixed with coconut? Even better!I am off to rest for the remainder of this Saturday.
