Ever have those times where you just feel plain lazy?
Not to toot my own horn but it rarely happens to me. I’m the go-go-GO type. But with work, family and the babe… sometimes being lazy is easier! I made a microwaveable pancake, similar to this recipe from way backin the day.This one was “lazier” then the first.
It’s 1/4 cup whole wheat pancake mix, 1 Tbsp quick oats, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, dash of Stevia and liquid til desired consistency. Microwave for 3-4 minutes and top with your favorite thangs. 😉
I’ve been wanted to make a good latte but I just waited for a freebie. #ventigoodness.Lunches have also been easy peasy. Yesterday morning I tried out the butter pecan cookie protein in a protein pancake and wow it was amazing. I may have to get a full tub of this because it’s perfect for fall. I even mixed it into coffee this morning and it was even better.Oh and I even signed up for a free week trial from Boston North Fitness Center in Danvers. I needed a change of scenery and their gym has it all.
But no excuses right? I know that a little soreness is a good thing to smile about; no pain, no gain!This weekend is going to be busy between work, training and I am going to see the Super Cross cycling race in Gloucester.

Question: Have you ever seen a cycling race or other kind of race?
It’s Friday, Friday!Or in my case, it’s my “Sunday night” as I am currently working the overnight. Remember how I said my work schedule was a bit stressful? I spoke to my this week boss and I managed to fix it to eliminate the majority of the stress.
The other night I saw a little frog hopping outside my apartment while I was heading up the stairs. In can y’all don’t know I love frogs. For me they are a sign of good luck.
When I went to check the mail right after, I received a letter I have been needing very much and it came at the perfect time. The man upstairs is watching out for me in more ways then one.
My brother Matty began another semester of college. It’s hard not to feel part mom when your little brother is your roommate. I have seen him grow from a shy kid in December to a more responsible young man today. I have a feeling we will be seeing the next Bill Gates graduate soon.
I also went to my six week post-opdoctor’s appointment and guess what? I am very healthy and the lifestyle changes I made are paying off. What were some of those changes I was recommend?
A daily vitamin and omega 3’s (for my eyes) was needed.
It was also recommended that I lay off bodybuilding. Bodybuilding just wasn’t a good fit for my body and made some things worse including my back, nutritional issues (due to my deficiencies), etc.
Limit caffeine. I had about 450mg per day and it was just doing more harm. So I limited it to less then 200mg. It hasn’t been easy but now I can have less then 100mg and be okay. I mostly stick to decaf but if I am out and about, I’ll grab a small iced soy latte at Starbucks where one shot of espresso has 75mg of caffeine.
Sleep? Self explanatory. It is needed.
Overworking? Same as above. Now that my boss allowed me to change my schedule a bit, I can sleep better. Never been happier to get sleep.
Now on to this “crepe” recipe. This may look weird and it isn’t exactly a recipe saver, but I was craving a pancake and decided to whip up something with what I had on hand.
So I made a gluten-free almond butter & chocolate chia protein crepe with blueberries and a sugar-free chocolate fudge sauce from a few things. That’s a tongue twister there ain’t it?
As for the macros? 25g Carbs/ 20g Protein/ 8g Fat on average. Enjoy!
Gluten-Free Almond Butter & Chocolate Chia Protein Crepes
1/4 Cup Oats
1/2 Tbsp Almond Butter
1 tsp of Chia Seeds
3 oz. Plain Greek Yogurt
1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
2 Packets of Stevia
2 Tbsps of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder (or Chocolate Protein Powder)
1 Egg White
Dash of Sea Salt
2 tsps of Baking Powder
Put all the ingredients in a blender, blend and cook like a crepe/ skinny pancake. Place some almond butter and extra berries inside, roll up then top however your heart desires. The sugar-free chocolate sauce that I made was just 1/2 Tbsp of cocoa powder and 1 Tbsp sugarfree maple syrup. Dig in and eat!

It’s been a while since my last WIAW post but fear not, I am back with some delicious eats from the weekend. As always, thanks to Jenn for hosting this food party! I started my day today with a 6:00am power yoga session. Breakfast consisted of oats with raspberries, chia seeds and a smidge of nut butter. This has become my go to breakfast. Let’s see how long this rut lasts.However, this weekend I had a mean craving for a protein pancake and sausage. Totally hit the spot even with those cinnamon’d pears I added.I also snacked on a lot Greek yogurt with mixed with some oats, cranberries, chia seeds and fiber-y twigs. Delish!This weekend I made a pizza topped with hummus, garlic, herbs and a hint of cheese. If you never had hummus as a “sauce” for pizza, you definitely have to try it. I think I may just convert to hummus pizza’s for good!A little froyo action post pizza; peanut butter froyo with raspberries, almonds, granola, kiwi and a few cheesecake pieces.My workouts have been on point this week! I have one month until my birthday and it’s time to kick up the last 4 weeks of the 8 week program that I am working on.My meals have not only been on point as well but also quite tasty like this Mediterranean styled chicken with a rice pilaf and broccoli.I hope everyone had a good weekend and is having a good week so far!
Question: Have you ever had hummus on a pizza? Ever had any other sauce other then your traditional “red” pizza sauce?
Y’all know I am always sick and in the ER. This time was very interesting. I found out something that I kind of had a feeling anyway. I usually understand my body and know when something is up; diabetes. I had something happen to me which was a common thing of diabetics to go through. OF course, I need to follow up with my regular diet but I never have to worry because I always exercise and eat well. The past couple of weeks though I’ve been having more refined carbs and too many sweets. But I am just going to have to make those swaps; sugar-free (at Starbucks or DD) or Stevia based products. Like this organic protein coffee thing!And going back to simply plain Greek or flavored coffees, sans the added sugar!And I have a lot of coffee choices. Thanks Target!I also found these protein shakes from Walgreens, which has 6g of sugar per two scoop serving, so I’ll probably have 1/2 of a serving. The chocolate one is delicious and tastes awesome in a protein pancake!Question: Anyone have or no anyone with diabetes? Any advice? Have you tried either of the protein shakes?
Let’s get down to business shall we? Many of you follow my Instagram or Facebook page or even my personal Facebook. I am sure you are probably wondering “what is this “training” you speak of? No it’s not a batch of revamped protein pancakes.Well today is day seven of training and let me explain; bodybuilding training. Now I am not talking about crazy bikini competition body building training because well y’all know I love my chocolate, Starbucks and specialty lattes way too much. But I have decided to find my own middle ground and I am further developing MY personal health and fitness plan.Little by little, I am putting a plan together for healthy body building. For those that have my plan, you know I am all about balance and moderation. I don’t like extreme diets or workouts. I like a plan that is fun, effect and suitable for all.Because after all, whatever you did to LOSE the weight, is what you will have to do to keep it off! You don’t want to do some crazy insanity type stuff everyday forever, do you? If you do, that’s cool too!

So I need to have some form of goal at the end of all this?! Well to be honest, I haven’t been truthful with y’all. Let’s just say long story short I did choose to gain weight for myself (10lbs) but also I gained weight for a boy. Yes, a boy who said I was too skinny in the 130’s and he said he’d like it better if I had more meat. I was already gaining back 5-10lbs for health reason so I thought why not 5-10lbs more?!
After getting out of that relationship and being truly single for almost a year now, I realized that I wasn’t myself. The real Sabrina knows how to be focused, balance treats, workout 5-6 times a week, cook, bake and listen to Nine Inch Nails. The real Sabrina, I realized hadn’t been around for almost five years and that surprised me. I can’t believe (though I was sick a couple weeks ago) how much more happy and vibrant I am.
People even comment on it; just something I never took the time to realized. Okay, what am I training for besides personal goals and my fitness plan development? Certification.
Summer is that time again where I have to renew my certification but I am thinking of either going one of two routes; level two person training (there are 3 levels and a Master personal trainer certification) or YOGA INSTRUCTOR.
Yes you heard well. I just honestly haven’t decided and who knows I may do neither and go into something else. What do y’all think?! What do YOU see me as?
