Ever have those times where you just feel plain lazy?
Not to toot my own horn but it rarely happens to me. I’m the go-go-GO type. But with work, family and the babe… sometimes being lazy is easier! I made a microwaveable pancake, similar to this recipe from way backin the day. This one was “lazier” then the first.
It’s 1/4 cup whole wheat pancake mix, 1 Tbsp quick oats, 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, dash of Stevia and liquid til desired consistency. Microwave for 3-4 minutes and top with your favorite thangs. 😉
I’ve been wanted to make a good latte but I just waited for a freebie. #ventigoodness.Lunches have also been easy peasy. This veggie burger n’ stuffs is still my go-to!I’ve been teaching more classes, including a Barre “Bootycamp.” I needed more workout clothes, so my brother got me this shirt on Etsy for Christmas. Samantha went to her first little shindig at my friend’s house for the game. While she is quite adorable, I am just not a football fan. Baseball on the other hand is a different story. Talk to me in April! Thanks Amanda for hosting Thinking Out LOUD Thursdays.Sabrina, OUT. 😉Question: What’s your favorite sport?
If you don’t have a favorite, what is your favorite event that occurs on the tube?
The holidays are an exciting time, but they can get stressful. Be sure to take time for yourself and unwind. Making sure that you fuel yourself right too. It’s easy to forget about nutrition during these times. Donuts are usually on my mind, so I am glad to find an alternative to my vice. This one is a must try. 😉How could I forget about Samantha’s new sister/ Christmas gift? Meet our adopted child, Leia. Yes we watch Star Wars.#nerds 😀
Hope everyone enjoys the holidays! Nutritiously Sweet will be on break until January 4th! Stay tuned for some fun posts including more workouts, yoga poses, healthy living tips and more. Thanks Amanda for hosting thinking out LOUD Thursdays!
Question: Any special holiday plans?
We are off to my in-laws tonight, then we are hosting Christmas lunch. #foodcoma. 😉
It’s a work in progress. As I think many of our lives are.
Things can change any day, any minute, and second! My life changed when I met Patrick almost three years ago. It also changed when Samantha was born on August 6th, 2015. Life will never be the same, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
My body is a work in progress. Here is 6 weeks of progress; I am now 3 months postpartum on the left and 3 weeks postpartum on the right. I lost about four inches off my belly and five pounds. May not seem like a lot but baby steps are key to long term success.
Maybe a little coffee played a role. I use to get lattes all the time but now I down graded to iced coffee with soy milk. I still get my fix and my body [and wallet] thank me.I also don’t deprive myself. When I first began on my weight loss journey, I thought certain foods were off limits, but I soon realized, life is about an 80/20 balance; 80% on plan, 20% wiggle room. I like cookies in that room. 😀I fuel my body. Whether it’s through good food, extra vitamin/ iron supplements or Shakeology, my body is always getting the nutrition I need. After all I have a family that needs me to be healthy.I’ve slowed down. Not only because, hey being a parent and working is tiring but I am learning to enjoy every moment.
That means slowing down and spending time where it matters. And capturing those precious “first time” moments. I am linking up with Amanda this week for Thinking out LOUD Thursdays. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
Question: What is YOUR current “work in progress?”
I know my posts have been quite inconsistent but I am still getting the hang of Miss newborn. She is 10 weeks today, where did all the time go?
I think after three months that’s when things get better and more predictible. She is almost on a proper nap shedule, which is great!
I start out my day usually between 7-8am. She wakes up for her first feeding. Now, she does still wake up between 1-2 am.
We’ve gotten use to the broken sleep so I don’t wake up too tired anymore; most days ;-).Days vary with breakfast but I’ve been doing either oatmeal with frozen strawberries or grabbing one of these granola cookies with some natural peanut butter and grapes.Mid-morning snack tends to be a banana or an apple. We still have plenty of apples left from apple picking.Lunch? Turkey sandwich with swiss on whole grain bread. Sometimes I make it a Boca vegan veggie burger if I have the extra few minutes to microwave.Another coffee is in order at some point in the day. Sometimes in, sometimes out. Iced coffee and soy please! Mid-afternoon snack is Shakeology. Current mix of frozen strawberries, vanilla Shakeo and a pinch of vanilla almond milk.Dinner depends on how baby girl is behaving. From 6-8pm seems to be her “terror hours” so I try to cook before then if I can. It varies but we do pork chops, homemade pizza, pasta, wraps or breakfast if we are just too tired! Dessert? I tried out these the other night from my mom and boy are they delicious and deadly! That’s a wrap for today! I’m linking up with Amanda today for thinking out LOUD Thursdays. Thanks for hosting!Question: What’s your current favorite snack for munchin’?
Yesterday was such a beautiful day.
Pat and I went for a lovely hike/ walk on Rock Rimmon in New Hampshire. The in-laws watched the [now two month old] munchkin. We relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon together.Had a picnic lunch at the top. Peace & bliss. We’ve been tying to get outdoors more before the winter hits and just trying to stay active! I’ve been doing PIYO for the past few days and it’s kicking my butt.
I’m nine weeks post partum and starting to focus on getting my prebaby strength back. Want to join me in?

I have to be honest, past few days I have been feeling like crapola.
At least this little babe keeps me smiling. I’ve been nauseous, having massive migraines, very tired… I haven’t been sleeping the best either for obvious reasons.
Apparently there is such a thing as postpartum nauseau which can results from several things including dehydration, low iron, poor sleep and so forth.
Those three have just been horrible for me. I haven’t been taking my iron (and I’m slightly anemic) just because I simply forget and I remember as I am in bed and have no energy to take. Since my stomach has felt funny and the constant migraines, I tend to drink less water. I’m sure drinking water would help me much more but at this point, I am just so blah. I probably went back to work a week earlier then I should have, but I had all the energy and I was just ready for a routine change.
I hadn’t been working for almost 6 weeks and I wanted to get back into the grove. So now I am taking things down a notch and making some schedule changes. I am always a mom but I am a “full-time mom” 4-5 days a week. The 2 days that Pat is off, he takes care of her while I’ll work or study. Sometimes we split it if I am off that day. Most Sundays, my in-laws will watch Samantha while we both work.
Where is my off time? I need to really get into a groove of planning some time to myself to just veg on one of Pat’s days off. You definitely need the “you time” to keep yourself refreshed.
Even if you are not a mom, if you’re in school or working, you need to take a moment to yourself.
Where has summer gone? Oh yes, I was pregnant most of it. Can you believe I was 40 weeks pregnant almost a month ago? Can’t believe Baby girl is soon to be a month old this week. And can’t believe Dunkin has pumpkin out. #PumpkinEverything 😉 My doctor told me that I could start testing working out at the two week mark. But when it hit, I knew I wouldn’t be ready for another week.
It felt good to be back on the saddle, but I did take it easy. I went to Oxygen, Mind & Body and class was great! You should check them out if you are in the area.Great thing about that studio is that there is Whole Foods near by. I get to stock up on trail mix and oatmeal cookies. The vegan ones from Whole Foods are delicious. #CookieMonster 😀I’ve also become obsessed with these Good Health veggie straws. And these. This week was my first week back instructing and I feel pretty good. Love seeing this face when I come back home.I’m linking up with Thinking Out Loud for today, thanks Amanda!Hope everyone is having an awesome first week of September. 🙂
