WIAW #127: Anniversary Sweets.

Good morning y’all!

Today, I am linking up with Jenn today for WIAW.It’s an extra special one because yesterday was Patrick’s & I’s anniversary. We had such a lovely day and delicious eats, so let’s get to it, shall we?Breakfast: I had a banana before I did the Lower Fix from the 21 Day Fix, after I refueled with some chocolate Shakeology mixed with strawberries, unsweetened coconut milk, water and tons of ice!Brunch: We went to a little dinner near our house for brunch. I had a mean craving for French toast and blueberries.Snack #1: After brunch, we dived into some cake.And a bit of the brownie truffles I made him.Snack #2: I munched on some pretzels and before my 38 week appointment, we stopped at Starbucks.We stopped at Salem Willows after the appointment for some arcade fun.Snack #3: And some fried dough balls with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Dinner: After the Willows, we ordered a pizza and watched a movie.It was nice to spend the entire day together on such a beautiful day. Love you Patrick to the moon and back

WIAW #126: Protein’d.

If I may say, I’ve been doing a pretty good job during the past few weeks getting my protein in; 120g+!

This my number one struggle during this pregnancy. I’ll have good weeks at 110g+ of protein, then others maybe 85g. My body feels good getting in at least 110g.

My muscles are working overtime to support and make baby. For this What I Ate Wednesday, I’ll be showing you some of my protein’d up eats. Enjoy!

Breakfast: Going back to oats; 1 packet of sugar-free maple & brown sugar instant oats (I need the added iron), 1/2 scoop of peanut butter marshmallow Cellucor whey, 1 tsp chia seeds, 1/3 cup frozen blueberries & 2 tsps crunchy peanut butter.Snack #1: I made this smoothie last week, but I am enjoying it again. It’s delicious and refreshing post-workout.It’s a Cherry, Cherry-nilla Smothie: 1/2 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder, 1 Chobani Simply 100 Black Cherry Container, 1/3 Cup of Pitted Cherries, 1/2 of a Frozen Banana, 6oz. of Water, Handful of Ice & Blend!

Lunch: Now that I am at officially on “maternity leave,” lunches are quick. I like to do veggie burgers with fruit and pretzels.Snack #2: I’ve been hooked on the Luna Chocolate Salted Caramel protein bars. Perfect for running errands. Dinner: Subway sandwich. You can’t go wrong with lots of turkey, veggies all toasted up.Night Munchies: I had a little bit of everything; Trader Joe’s popcorn, light Swiss cheese wedge, grapes & some reduced-fat Wheat Thins! WIAW #125: Day Off Eats!

Morning there! It’s been almost a month since my last What I Ate Wednesday post.

Why not bring one to you this week on eats on one of my days off? Let’s Go!

Breakfast: Literally 6 out of 7 days a week, I have cereal for breakfast; mix of Fiber One Honey Clusters, Kellogg’s Smart Start, chia seeds and blueberries.. Today I clearly has two breakfasts; this one is Special K Chocolate Almond, Fiber One Honey Clusters and seeds. #NoShame.Mid-Morning Snack: I tried this limited Chobani plum Greek Yogurt. It honestly tasted more like light cherry, but was still delicious.I had a real plum after to compensate for taste 😉Lunch: I really didn’t have lunch, but rather munched on a Quest bar and banana. Dinner: A simple, yet yummy Lean Cuisine Four Cheese pizza with grape tomatoes on the side. I topped with a sprinkle of pepper and reduced-fat Parmesan. Dessert: The fiancé went to get me some pistachio soft served. Couldn’t say no to that one!There you have it, some eats on my day off. WIAW #124: Long Day!

Good morning y’all!

I am stopping by for a What I Ate Wednesday post today. I have a full day today (10am-9pm) with a couple of hours in between time. All meals were pre-prepped and packed!

I started my day off with some protein pancakes before heading to my doctor’s appointment. It’s been a while since I had em’ and they did not disappoint.  Of course coffee too.I had a thinkThin lean protein and fiber bar as a snack, just before the doctor’s. For lunch, I made a whole wheat wrap with turkey, Swiss, tomatoes and garlic infused olive oil. Mmmm 🙂 Afternoon pick-me-up!For a second snack (at work), I packed a fruit salad, Greek yogurt and string cheese. To satisfy my sweet tooth (had two) ❤ Dinner (at work) was some homemade Vermont pasta with homemade pasta sauce from this weekend.Thanks Jenn for hosting this food party!Question: Ever had one of those crazy long days where you’re home to just wake up, go and come back to sleep?

WIAW #123: A Day Off!

Happy Wednesday!

I was finally “off” yesterday. When I say off, I mean no obligations and I can do whatever I want. Some days off I have errands or get called in for work. That isn’t a day off to me. Now on to this food-filled post.

Breakfast: Bowl of steelcut oats, blueberries, chia seeds and a small half-caff latte. I also had egg whites and a banana shortly after, since I got hungry.Snacks #1: Fiber One honey clusters, skim milk and H20.Pre-Lunch: A few Triscuits, Stonyfield organic Greek yogurt and a reduced fat string cheese. Snack #2: #FreeConeDay! Spectacular Speculoos Cookie ice cream and mango sorbet.Lunch: Grilled porkchop w/ baked beans, half a turkey and Swiss sandwich and strawberries.Snack #3: Smoothie in recycled cup! Vanilla protein, banana, strawberries and flax. Dinner: Lean beef burger with Swiss and organic ketchup on half a whole wheat bun and mini pretzels on the side.I munched on some more pretzels after dinner and then headed to bed to relax. WIAW #121: St.Paddy’s [Sick] Day

It’s been a while since my last What I Ate Wednesday.

Fear not, for I am here with an updated post on my daily eats. Now that my appetite is 95% back to normal as of 15 Weeks, you will see healthier options. Let’s get to it, shall we?

Brunch: I woke up late yesterday, I wasn’t feeling too great. I made my usual steel cut oats w/ peanut butter and side of orange juice (x’s 2). This time I added blueberries instead of raspberries. #PartyAnimal.Mid-Morning Snack #1: I was trying to figure out if maybe I had a little caffeine withdrawal, so I got a soy latte w/ one pump of toffee nut. It didn’t really help, but it was still delicious.Mid-Morning Snack #2: I went to do a little grocery shopping to pick up more orange juice and fruit. I got a little hungry and munched on this Lemon Vanilla Luna bar. At the store, I spotted some goodies to bring to Patrick for St. Paddy’s Days. Mmmm. Lunch, Part #1: I normally don’t do lunch these days, I’ll have a couple rounds of snacks. First up was a Kind bar and a serving of Skoop‘s A-Game mixed with orange juice. Lunch, Part #2: Then a bowl of fresh strawberries and a vanilla Yoplait Greek whips.I had to go into work for a few hours before my awesome co-worker came in to relieve me. When I came home, Patrick had brought me some “get well” goodies. He sure knows how to make a pregnant sick lady feel better ❤The box was a package from his sister that had a few items for Sam that she knitted herself. They were absolutely adorable!

Dinner: I was just going to have some toast and eggs but Patrick really wanted stuffed crust from Pizza Hut. I had two small slices with a garlic and herb Laughing Cow cheese wedge on the side.After dinner, I called it a night and went to bed. This morning, I feel a bit better, but I am going to the doc’s later today to see if it’s anything.

Question: Did you go out for St.Patrick’s Day? Domino’s or Pizza Hut? I prefer Domino’s if I had to choose, but Uno’s is my favorite “fast food” pizza joint.

WIAW #119: Cravings!

Good morning y’all!

Happy What I Ate Wednesday!

This one is going to be a fun one because it’s all about cravings. Last week it was all about bagels, butter and eggs. This past week it’s all about donuts, french toast and canoli’s.It’s funny how I went from cravings a ton of salty things, to back to my sweet tooth. Though, unfortunately, they are NOT Nutritiously Sweet ;).

Any who, let’s get going with this food show, shall we?

I must say, at least I managed to get some nutritious breakfast to kick start my day, like this “muffin tops” (with protein powder added). I’ve been craving bananas in the morning too for some reason. They bother my stomach, so it’s not a food I want to have too often, especially with bloating.I’ve been trying to get better about protein, more fruit and veggies. I tried out this Jamba Juice smoothie mix and it wasn’t too bad. I mixed it with almond milk instead of apple juice as recommended and added a little protein powder. Protein powder is still making me nauseaus, so I’d nix protein next time I make this.I also tried out the new Luna bar in chocolate cupcake. Now let me tell you the top layer tasted like legit chocolate frosting, but the bottom layer was just like your regular Luna bar. It was pretty good overall, but I think I’ll stick to their protein line.Speaking of chocolate, check out this holy canoli! It was half chocolate dipped with chocolate sprinkles and half plain with almonds. Probably one of the best canoli’s I’ve had, and I had a couple this week. Shhh 😉And lastly, what day isn’t complete with a nice big, fat, grilled hot dog loaded with ketchup? When you put it that way, doesn’t really sound appetizing. But trust me it was the BOMB!And craving diet soda too. I haven’t drank soda since like 2007. I guess that’s what pregnancy does to you, makes you crave things you never ate, haven’t eating in a long time or would never eat!
